Honorary members may be outstanding Russian and foreign scientists who made universally recognized contribution to the development of science and technology.

Honorary members have right to:

• recommend candidates into the Academy;
• participate in the work of the Meeting, Conference and other administrative bodies of the Academy, with the right of consultative voice;
• represent the Academy on international and Russian forums;
• participate in ceremonial meetings, sessions, and other events of the Academy.
