On July 2-5, 2023 «First Trans Eurasian Cooperation Development High Peek Forum of Supply Chain in International New Land-sea Corridor & Freight Forwarding Fair» was held in Chongquin (China). It was organized by the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) together with China International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFA) and ASEAN Federation of Forwarders Associations (AFFA) with the support of the Chongquin Government. The Association was represented by M.Fedotova, advisor to President of the FBA EAC Li Shuobing. On July 3, 2023 S.Plikais was appointed Vice-President of the Association. The FBA EAC International Committee for Technology Sovereignty in Radioelectronics and Applied Informatics was established in the structure of the Association. On July 5, 2023 business negotiations with representatives of the company MERIDA LLC (UAE), recently accepted as a member of the Association, were held in the headquarters of the FBA EAC. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the FBA EAC Executive Board A.Murychev, First Vice President A.Kotlyarsky, Vice President S.Plikais, interim General Director S.Orlova, and Chief Executive Director E.Berezovaya. On July 11, 2023 in Yekaterinburg «Financing for Industrial Innovations: From Conventional to Digital» session was held at INNOPROM-2023. The session was moderated by Vice President of RSPP, Chairman of the FBA EAC Executive Board A.Murychev. Opening the event, A.Murychev noted that innovations in industry are of primary importance for the development not only of an individual enterprise, but also of the Russian economy as a whole. In the course of further discussion, the participants assessed the current state and prospects of the digital asset market, tried to answer the question “what can digitalization of assets provide for financing innovations in industry and how this tool solves the issue of increasing the availability of financial resources for industry”, agreed with the opinion that the synergy between traditional and new financial instruments has reached a qualitatively new level, and all of them can be combined in one project from idea to practice. On July 14, 2023 an exhibition of pedigree livestock breeding was held on the premises of the Vladimir Agrarian College. Traditionally, the best farms in the region took part in the event. In conversation with FBA EAC Committee member V.Vasiliev, interim Minister of Agriculture of the Vladimir region S.Lukyanov expressed his willingness to hold an extended round table with local farmers interested in developing their production in order to determine the forms and methods of future cooperation. In co-operation with the Research Institute “Child nutrition” and Belarusian colleagues, information is being collected on necessary equipment, suppply of raw materials, personnel, client base, etc. V.Karamzin, member of the FBA EAC Committee, Doctor of Science, General Director of Agromash, takes an active part in this work. On July 18, 2023 business negotiations took place at the FBA EAC headquarters, attended by S.Orlova, Acting General Director, E.Berezovaya, Chief Executive Director, and A.Yakovleva, Head of the Ludvig Nobel Foundation. A.Yakovleva spoke about the history and activities of the Foundation, shared plans for the implementation of the humanitarian and educational project “Cadets of Victory”. The participants of the negotiations exchanged proposals for possible mutually beneficial co-operation and stressed the importance of such meetings in promoting social projects. On July 19, 2023 a meeting of the Business Centre for Economic Development of the CIS was held. The meeting was moderated by A.Kazakov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of CIS Financial and Banking Council, Chairman of Coordinating Council of the CIS Business Centre for Economic Development, Advisor to General Secretary of the CIS, Member of FBA EAC Business Council. The speakers of the meeting were A.Aksakov, Chairman of the Financial Market Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, member of the Supervisory Board of FBA EAC and A.Murychev, Vice President for Financial Policy and Economic Sector Development of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the FBA EAC Board. On July 26-29, 2023 the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum took place in St. Petersburg at the Expoforum Exhibition Center. The event is designed to demonstrate various forms and directions of Russian-African cooperation, as well as to determine their development for the long term. One of the centers of attraction of the Forum participants was the “Innovation Territory”, a project that is a platform for dialogue, debate and discussion of trends with leading experts in the field of innovation and digital transformation. One of the speakers of this event, held under the title “Effective Cybersecurity: Expectations and industry specifics”, was A.Biryukov, Head of the Representative Office of the FBA EAC in West Africa and Mauritania, General Director of OOO “BIZAF Business in Africa’’. On July 27, 2023 a meeting was held at the headquarters of FBA EAC between the management of the FBA EAC Committee on Best Available Technologies and Investment Projects, which is chaired by Y.Fedorov, and A.Unitsky, President of Unitsky String Technologies Inc. The meeting was attended by V.Donchenko, Chief Scientific Associate of the Centre for Environmental Safety of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation, expert of the BAT Council, member of the FBA EAC Committee; A.Babayan, Chief Executive Director of Unitsky String Technologies Inc.; S.Orlova, Acting General Director of FBA EAC; E.Berezovaya, Chief Executive Director of FBA EAC. On September 27-30 2023 the XX International Banking Forum will be held in Sochi. The forum will include the conference “Financial Markets in Times of Structural Shifts and Shocks: Russia and International Practice”. The main theme of the forum will be the discussion of the conditions and prospects for the development of financial markets in times of structural shifts and shocks.
In September 2023, the Association’s anniversary booklet is scheduled to be released. Vice-presidents, chairmen of committees, heads of representative offices are invited to join the preparation of this publication, having worked out the issue of preparing congratulations for the FBA EAC from significant international, state, public organizations that will be included in the booklet.
On October12-13, 2023 the regional financial event «FinConference 2023» will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.
The main program of the FinConference 2023 will focus on topical issues in decentralized finance, payment instruments, correspondent banking and other related topics. The program will include presentations and panel discussions on the following aspects:
- Decentralized finance: Exploring the concept and principles of decentralized finance, including blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, decentralized exchanges and other financial innovations;
- Payment Instruments: Discussion on various payment systems, their development, efficiency and security. Exploring new technologies and trends in payment services, including mobile payments, e-wallets and digital payment platforms, and remittance systems;
- Correspondent banking: Analyzing current challenges and opportunities in correspondent banking, including liquidity, regulation, risk and compliance issues;
- Financial innovation and open banking: Discussing new technological developments in the financial industry, including artificial intelligence, big data, robotics and process automation.
