The events that took place in the business life of the FBA EAC

We inform you about the events that took place in the business life of the FBA EAC in June 2021:

From 2 to 5 June 2021, the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held. Member of the FBA EAC Board, Vice President of the Association of Russian Banks, General Director and Co-founder of New Financial Alliance BRICS PAY LLC, O. Preksin took an active part in the Forum sessions. On the sidelines of the forum, working meetings and negotiations with the Governor of the Astana AIFC, K. Kelimbetov, the Chairman of the EEC Board, M. Myasnikovich, the Chairman of the Board of the EBR, N. Podguzov, the President of the Association “Knowing Eurasia”, the Chairman of the Board of directors of Banca Intesa JSC, A. Falliko and other significant participants of the Forum. In particular, they discussed issues of interaction and the holding of the VIII Moscow International Forum “Building bridges, not walls. Business Eurasia in a new reality”, which will be held on November 18, 2021.

From June 7 to 11, 2021, the President of the FBA EAC A. Tkachuk paid a visit to the UAE. As part of the trip, a video conference was held in the office of ROSATOM Group of Companies on joint implementation of projects. The President of the FBA EAC A. Tkachuk, the management of ROSATOM MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA, the management of the largest bank of the Republic of Egypt BANQUE MISR and representatives of the largest business of the Republic of Iraq took part in the videoconference. The first projects were identified and practical steps for their implementation were outlined.

On June 8, 2021, the President of the FBA EAC A. Tkachuk held a visiting meeting of the FBA EAC Committee on Economic and Strategic Development with the participation of the Head of the Committee D. Panasenko and the Deputy Head of the Committee E. Nadera. During the meeting A. Tkachuk defined the tasks of the Association to assist companies – members of the FBA EAC in their market promotion. At the moment, under the supervision of the FBA EAC Committee for Economic and Strategic Development a professional working group has been formed in the UAE to provide practical assistance to Russian and foreign companies in legal and administrative support. Among the achievements of the Committee:

– together with the official representative of the FBA EAC in Dubai, the Head of the company “KARAS MEDICAL” Ch. Filopos a program for the promotion of Russian medicines and equipment in the markets of the Middle East was developed and presented;

– lobbying the obtaining of a resident status of a “Research and Innovation Park” in the emirate of Sharjah (hereinafter SRTIP) by the Russian company “INTERMOST”, which is a FBA EAC member, a member of the “Aluminum Association” and one of the leaders of the Russian market in the design of transport infrastructure facilities;

– preparation and organization of the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah represented by the “Research and Innovation Park” in the Emirate of Sharjah (SRTIP) and the Russian resident of SRTIP and a member of the FBA EAC company “NRTB”. The agreement provides implementation in the UAE of a project of an Aggregator for the delivery of food and products by unmanned aerial vehicles. This event became the most important event of the visit of the President of the FBA EAC A. Tkachuk to the UAE.

On June 15, 2021, a regular meeting of the International Banking Council (IBC) was held in the videoconference format on the Zoom platform. The topic of the meeting was “Small banks in the context of the development of financial services and technologies”. The meeting was led by the IBS Chairman A. Murychev.

The main speaker of the meeting was Executive Director of the Hungarian National Bank, General Director of the Budapest Institute of Banking, F. Gergely. The discussion was attended by: Secretary General of the Banking Association of Central and Eastern Europe, I. Lendel, Advisor to the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia, E. Chaikovskaya, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M. Baitokov, Executive Director of the Association “Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine” E. Korobkova, Director General of the Association of Banks of Uzbekistan, B.Khamidov, Vice President of the Association of Banks of Russia, K.Artyukh. The participants agreed that the prospects for the development of small banks lie in the development of their own applications with the ability to connect to the API of other banks, “embedding” their services into service chains within developing ecosystems and combined products, maximizing access to a wider market through absence of geographic restrictions, connections to physical departments. During the meeting the members of the IBS adopted a new structure – the Macedonian Banking Association.

On June 16, 2021, a meeting of the FBA EAC management with the Heads of the Representative offices of the Association took place in the videoconference format. The meeting was attended by the Heads of the FBA EAC Representative Offices in China, Mongolia, Italy, Switzerland, Korea, Germany, India, Hungary, Moldova, Russia, Armenia, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand, West African countries. The meeting discussed current issues of the Association and the participation of Heads of Representative offices in strategic projects of the FBA EAC.

On June 17, 2021, in the Komi Republic a working meeting was held between the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Komi Republic, I. Bulatov and the management of RUSTITAN Group of Companies represented by President A. Tkachuk and General Director A. Novikov. The parties discussed the creation of a mining and metallurgical complex for processing titanium ores and quartz (glass) sands of the Pizhemskoye deposit as part of the implementation of the Development Strategy for the Arctic zone of Russia. The President of the RUSTITAN Group of Companies, the President of the FBA EAC, A. Tkachuk informs the members of the FBA EAC that he is ready to consider proposals for interaction and participation in the project, which will be met with attention and considered taking into account mutually beneficial interests.

On June 22, 2021, Member of the Board of the FBA EAC, O. Preksin took part in a live broadcast of the RBC TV channel in the DAY program “Eurasian Space: Risks and Opportunities for Russia”. During the TV broadcast the participants discussed the current economic issues of interaction between different countries in the Eurasian space. On June 22, 2021, the first meeting of the subcommittee on foreign exchange policy and foreign exchange control of the RSPP Commission on Banks and Banking was held. It discussed current issues and work plans for the second half of 2021. In his speech, Chairman of the RSPP Commission on Banks and Banking, Vice President of the RSPP, Chairman of the Board of the FBA EAC, A. Murychev spoke about building a system for ensuring and monitoring compliance with currency regulation requirements, the basis of which should be preventive measures aimed at preventing currency offenses.

On June 25, 2021, at the headquarters of the FBA EAC at 17 Kotelnicheskaya Nabereznaya, within the framework of the Association’s program “Business Dialogues”, a round table was held. It was organized by the FBA EAC Committee on Human Resources Technologies and Qualification. The event was held in the format of a video conference. More than 60 companies from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Bulgaria, Korea, France, Moldova took part in the event.
The topic of the round table was: “The Eurasian labor market in the era of digitalization: an upgrade.”
The meeting was opened by the President of the FBA EAC A. Tkachuk, the moderator of the event was the Chairman of the FBA EAC Committee on Human Resources Technologies and Qualification, A. Bespalov.

Head of the Economy and Finance Department of PJSC Inter RAO UES, N. Bryukhanova spoke on the current understanding of the quality of the workforce and changes in approaches, Director of the Department of Analytical Business Solutions at HeadHunter LLC, N. Danina made a speech on the need for qualified workforce in the medium term. Senior researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, R. Novikova told about the specifics and state of intellectual migration in modern conditions. General Director of the SPKFR D. Mashtakeeva spoke on the possibilities of intercountry cooperation in the field of training qualified personnel for business and on international comparability and mutual recognition of certificates of professional qualifications. Member of the Board of the FBA EAC, Head of the Secretariat of the Member of the Board (Minister) for Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC, A. Kishkembaev spoke about the achievements and current tasks of the single labor market of the EAEU. President of the International Social Work Fund for Emigrants from Moldova, R. Taran told about the ways of integration of Moldovan companies into the single labor market of the EAEU.

On June 29, 2021, an extended meeting of the Board of the FBA EAC was held in the format of a videoconference. The topic of the meeting was: “ESG Principles as New Determinants of the World Economy”. The meeting was attended by members of the Management Board, Supervisory and Business Councils of the FBA EAC, Vice presidents, Heads of Representative offices and FBA EAC Committees, members of the Association, as well as invited persons. The Member of the FBA EAC Board, O. Preksin spoke on the main topic of the meeting. Presentations were also made by: Head of the FBA EAC Representative Office in Australia and New Zealand, President of the Russian Academy of Business and Entrepreneurship, I.Gorbulina; Head of the FBA EAC Representative Office in Hungary, Secretary General VASEE, I. Lengel; Member of the Management Board, Chairman of the Business Council of the FBA EAC, President of the Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank CenterCredit JSC, B. Baiseitov. During the meeting, the General Director of the FBA EAC O. Berezovoy and the President of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs D. Ibraev signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

In the near future, the following events will take place in the life of the FBA EAC:

On July 1, 2021, at 11.00 Moscow time, a scheduled meeting of the President of the FBA EAC A. Tkachuk with the Vice Presidents and Heads of the FBA EAC Committees will take place.

On July 08, 2021, at 11:00 Moscow time within the framework of the FBA EAC program “Business Dialogues” in the videoconference format on the ZOOM platform the Round table of the FBA EAC Committee on Finance and Investments will take place. Topic of the meeting: “Practical solutions to common financial problems.” The following issues will be discussed at the meeting: project financing, the Eurasian zone – criteria and procedure for financing, hedging of currency risks and interest rates, international leasing, commercial financing of purchases and sales: factoring. The round table program is enclosed in the attachment.
