On October 20-21, 2021 at the Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin there was successfully held III International Kosygin Forum “Modern Tasks of Engineering Science”

On October 20-21, 2021 at the Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin there was successfully held III International Kosygin Forum “Modern Tasks of Engineering Science” which was an important scientific event. The Forum has become the main platform for discussing key areas in engineering activities in Russia and abroad. Due to the pandemic restrictions, in 2021 the Forum was held in a blended format: offline and online (remotely). The number of offline and online participants amounted to 5,223 people. Leading Russian and foreign scientists, engineers, experts, entrepreneurs, representatives of the media took part in the Forum.

At the Plenary session of the Forum Boris Vladimirovich Gusev, President of the International and Russian Academies of Engineering, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor presented a paper “New Model to Arrange Chemical Elements.”

The Forum hosted 4 symposiums. In particular, there was traditionally held the International Scientific and Technical Symposium “Modern Scientific and Technical Problems in Key Industries” organized jointly by the International and Russian Academies of Engineering and Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin.

The successful implementation of the Symposium was facilitated by the coordinated work of the ISTC Organizational and Scientific Committees, which was managed by the following leaders:

Executive Secretary of the Symposium: Ivanov Leonid Alekseevich, Chief Scientific Secretary and Vice President of the International and Russian Academies of Engineering, IAE and RAE Academician, Candidate of Technical Sciences

In preparation for the Symposium, the International and Russian Academies of Engineering and Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin carefully selected the articles for publication. 116 teams received the approval of the Scientific and Organizing Committees of the Symposium (about 300 authors in total). The teams presented the results of their research conducted in more than 20 countries, 40 Russian regions, in more than 50 universities and scientific institutes (Russian Academy of Science, Russian Authors Society, Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences and other national academies), as well as on the basis of key enterprises and organizations of many industries.

The collection of scientific works of ISTS “Modern Scientific and Technical Problems in Key Industries” was first published in three volumes (72 printed pages). An electronic version of the Collection can be found on the official websites of the Academies and University:

Within the ISTS framework there were held 1 Plenary and 2 sectional sessions in a blended format. The organizers are grateful to the University for the uninterrupted technical online (VKS) support of all meetings, both in the Assembly Hall and in the premises of the Library of Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin.

Online members showed active participation, asking questions and expressing their wishes. Comments from St. Petersburg and Kazan were especially noteworthy, etc.

President of the International and Russian Academies of Engineering B.V. Gusev expressed gratitude to the participants of the Symposium for supporting the work of the III International Kosygin Forum and announced that that on October 20, 2021, on RAE behalf, he signed an agreement with the Rector of the Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin and the  Memorandum that the Russian Academy of Engineering, among other reputable organizations, becomes the founder of THE KOSYGIN SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL CONSORTIUM.  RAE and IAE President Gusev B.V. recommended universities, scientific institutes and regional departments joining the Kosygin Consortium.

At the end there were closing remarks as well as preliminary notification that the IV International Kosygin Forum will be held in 2023, and preparations for it will begin in the summer of 2022. The authors of the most interesting materials will be invited as speakers to the IV International Kosygin Forum.
